The San Jose Peregrine Falcon Alliance is a 501(c)3, non-profit, all volunteer Organization that exists to support a pair of Peregrine Falcons that nest and raise their young on the San Jose City Hall. Each year when the young peregrines fledge, the SJPFA hosts "Fledge Watch" on behalf of the UC of Santa Cruz Predatory Bird Research Group. For 10 consecutive days in late May/early June, for 15 hours each day, volunteers are posted in the vicinity around City Hall to keep tabs on the youngsters. Occasionally a fledgling peregrine finds itself in trouble and the purpose of the volunteer effort is to insure the fledglings safety, as much as possible.
